La Cautiva (EDP)

La Cautiva (The captive) is a famous Argentinian poem written by Esteban Echeverría and published in 1837. The epic poem describes a group of natives attacking a white population and kidnapping María and her husband called Brian. During the Native´s great victory feast, María and her injured husband achieved to escape to the desert. But Brian could not survive to the many obstacles they had to go threw. María buried her husband and follow her path hoping to find her son. When she find out her son had been beheaded by savages, María died of sadness.
